Security officials in Northwest Pakistan have confirmed that a suicide attack took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, claiming four lives including a ten-year-old boy, and injuring at least 14 others.
The terror attack took place in the Miran Shah area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, June 5, Washington Post reported.
Rashid Khan, a police official in Miran Shah reported to the media about an ongoing search operation in the attack site, which claimed the lives of at least two security officials and a teenage boy.
Furthermore, the Pakistani army has confirmed the death of three army personnel in this incident.
No one or group has claimed responsibility for the attack, however, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been behind similar attacks throughout Pakistan in the past.
The outlawed TTP has intensified its attacks against the Pakistani army and police officials in the recent past, claiming the lives of scores of innocent civilians and security personnel.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which shares border with Afghanistan is one of the least secure provinces in Pakistan, having witnessed hundreds of terrorist attacks in the past as well.
Meanwhile, Pakistani authorities have repeatedly claimed that insurgent groups including the TTP launch attacks on Pakistan using Afghan territories.
On the contrary, Afghan Taliban authorities have repeatedly denied such claims and called them baseless allegations.
