UFC 290 'Embedded,' No. 4: 'It's gonna be a good weekend, I'm happy to be violent!'
The UFC is back with its eighth pay-per-view of the year, which means the popular “Embedded” fight-week video series is here to document what’s happening behind the scenes.
UFC 290 takes place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ABC/ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+. The event coincides with International Fight Week and is headlined by two title fights.
In the main event, UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski (25-2 MMA, 12-1 UFC) competes in a unification bout against interim titleholder Yair Rodriguez (15-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC).
Before the featherweights throw down, the UFC flyweight title will be on the line as champion Brandon Moreno (21-6-2 MMA, 10-3-2 UFC) faces off with Alexandre Pantoja (25-5 MMA, 9-3 UFC) for a third time.
Also on the card, Dricus Du Plessis (19-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) and Robert Whittaker (24-6 MMA, 15-5 UFC) jostle for position in atop the UFC middleweight rankings in a fight that could very well earn the victor a title shot.
