Woman claims she’s nabbed the best £5 footwear for gardening – but trolls say they’re yuck and will give her a weird tan
A GARDENING enthusiast has been trolled after nabbing the most comfortable footwear for the hobby, with people describing the buy as ‘yuck’.
Mum Gemma Conroy shared the affordable bargain deal – a pair of Crocs – on Facebook, however, the cheap footwear was soon mocked.
According to the parent, the comfy sandals, which she had purchased in summery yellow, cost just £5 and she had nabbed them from JD Sports.
Sharing a few snaps of her new Crocs, Gemma wrote in her post: ”Just £5, perfect garden shoes. Not a fan of yellow myself but £5, can’t complain.”
The price tag also revealed that the original deal for this pair was an eye-watering £49.50, meaning the lucky customer had managed to save a fortune.
Chuffed with the buy, Gemma also uploaded a photo of herself enjoying the lovely weather – and the Crocs – on her patio.
But whilst the delighted shopper, may have been convinced the footwear would be ideal for gardening, not everyone was jealous of the find.
The post, shared on the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, soon racked up over 1.4k likes, as there were mixed opinions on the yellow Crocs.
”Not that good for gardening it depends what your doing a few yrs ago I was digging soil over and sliced my foot with the spade wearing my crocs and cut my foot really badly,” a fellow gardening enthusiast warned the mum.
Another tagged their pal and almost puked: ”someone else with your sick dress sense [puking emoji].”
”Yukk [sic],” is how someone else felt about the sandals.
Meanwhile, others were more concerned about Gemma ending up with a spotty tan, sharing their tanning fails.

After being slammed for the buy, Gemma also hit back at all the meanies.
”There are some right KARENS on here. They were £5 and for garden wear.
”You really think I’m bothered about what my feet look like whilst pottering around in my garden.
”Hell if they was a different colour i absolutely would wear them out and about I’m just not a yellow fan, others are and totally rock them.”
Luckily, amongst all the haters were also fellow Crocs super fans, such as this Facebook user who said: ”Pft! Garden shoes!! Don’t underestimate the magic of crocs!
”You may think they are garden shoes until…..nipping to tesco, crocs. Going into town, crocs.
”Day out, crocs. Night out? Why not? Crocs!!
”Apparently they end up superglued on! Best purchase I ever made.”
