A GRANDMOTHER passed on her laundry hack to her grandson — who has now shared it with the world.
The cleaning tip stops the unsettling banging noise from shoes in the dryer.
Dustin Wheeler (@dustin_wheeler) filmed himself in the laundry room to demonstrate in a TikTok post.
“You just take all your shoe strings, tie them together, and then you do one knot,” he said in the video, tying the shoes together.
He placed the knotted shoes in the dryer with the knot perched on top of the door.
“You hang them inside the dryer and the knot will catch right here,” he said. “And now they won’t bang.”
The maneuver allowed for the shoes to dry without the banging shoes they tend to make as the dryer rotates.
“Tired of your shoes banging in the dryer? Maybe this tip from granny will help out,” Dustin said.
He added the hashtag #GrandmaKnowsEverything.
Many commenters found the hack useful for quickly drying shoes, like sneakers, after giving them a wash and keeping them bright.
The video drew in many viewers who shared their thoughts in the comment section.
