A man was charged with DUI following a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in Milford late Wednesday.
The crash was reported at about 8:55 p.m. in the area of Bridgeport Avenue and Meadows End Road, according to the Milford Police Department. A motorcyclist heading east on Bridgeport Avenue was struck by a motorist driving a 2020 Nissan Sentra headed west on the same road as the Sentra driver turned left onto Meadows End Road, police said.
The motorcycle driver, who has not been identified, was taken to Bridgeport Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
Milford police said they located Sentra at the home of 68-year-old Daniel Defilippo. Police said they believe Defilippo was driving under the influence.
He has been charged with operation while under the influence of liquor or drug or while having an elevated blood alcohol content. Defilippo was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on July 14.
Milford police said they are still investigating and asking anyone with information to contact Patrolman First Class Dan Hemperly at 203-783-4792.
