Report: Spurs player is hoping Daniel Levy will sell him at a discount this summer
The Daily Mail have claimed that Harry Kane is hopeful that Manchester United will resurrect their interest in him over the coming months after the Red Devils called off their pursuit of the Tottenham man.
The report claims that Man Utd made it clear to Tottenham that they will not pay their £100m asking price for Kane since he has just one year left on his contract.
The Manchester club allegedly ended their interest in the England captain at hearing the aforementioned price and turned their attention to other attainable targets such as Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.
It is explained that the only way they would come back in for Kane is if Daniel Levy softens his stance.

The Mail claim that United could be tempted back to the negotiating table if Spurs lower their asking price to around £80m, particularly since Erik Ten Hag prefers to sign a striker with a proven track record in the Premier League.
The report adds that Levy has made it clear that he will not sell the centre-forward to another English club but Kane is hoping that the Tottenham chairman will relent over the coming weeks.
However, it is asserted that the feeling on all sides is that Levy will stick to his guns and the Spurs striker will be forced to wait another year to leave N17 as a free agent.

I actually do not see why Kane would want to move to Old Trafford this summer rather than wait for one more year to move to a destination of his choice.
There is no guarantee that United will compete for the biggest honours next season and Kane will have a whole host of suitors next summer as a free agent.
