Moped rider in cannabis socks arrested for using cannabis
A moped rider wearing cannabis socks was arrested for being under the influence of… cannabis.
The man was pulled over for illegally driving with L plates and a pillion passenger.
Eagle-eyed officers from Wiltshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit (RPU) then spotted his choice of white socks with green cannabis symbols.
The motorcyclist then tested positive for both cannabis and cocaine usage.
A spokesperson for the Roads Policing Unit wrote: ‘RPU spotted the pillion with the L plate on display today in Swindon.
‘The sock choice of the rider got us on the subject of gardening and some exotic herb was produced along with a positive line for cannabis. Rider arrested.’
Earlier this week in Wiltshire, road cops caught a driver speeding who was late to his own wedding.
The man was pulled over in his silver BMW on the M4.
Not only was he travelling at 121mph – more than 50mph over the limit – but he also had a bald tyre.
The police served him with a vehicle prohibition notice, which stops a vehicle in a dangerous condition from being driven on the roads.
The wedding party then had to collect the groom and take him to the wedding.
It is unknown whether he made it in time.
