Jodie Comer has been getting rave reviews for months for her performance in Prima Facie on Broadway.
The 30-year-old actress is the sole star of the show as it’s a one woman performance, but an incident happened during today’s matinee.

The show reportedly started ten minutes late, and about ten minutes into the show, Jodie announced that she could not breathe. A stage manager apparently helped her off stage and the curtain lowered. The audience was asked to stay seated until a decision was made if Jodie could perform the 90+ minute performance, or if her understudy would have to step in, Deadline reports.
A rep confirmed to Just Jared, “Today’s matinee of Prima Facie was halted approximately 10 minutes into the performance after Jodie Comer had difficulty breathing due to the poor air quality in New York City because of smoke from the Canadian wildfires. The performance was set to start again from the top with understudy Dani Arlington going on for Ms. Comer in the role of Tessa.”
“We came to see Jodie Comer. She started show. Had to stop for air quality. Now want us to see understudy. What is refund policy? Exchange? We came and paid high price to see Jodie,” one Twitter user wrote.
Jodie is nominated for a Tony Award for her work in the play.
