Conor Coady seems impressed that Tottenham Hotspur have decided to appoint Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach.
Given the vast difference in quality between the Scottish top flight and the Premier League, some are understandably sceptical about whether Postecoglou‘s success in Glasgow can translate to England.
Perhaps the underwhelming record of Steven Gerrard in England following his recent successful stint in Scotland is one of the reasons behind the scepticism surrounding the Australian.
However, that is something that Postecoglou has been forced to deal with throughout his managerial career, most recently when he took over at Celtic, with many ridiculing the appointment two years ago (talkSPORT).
Postecoglou quickly made his critics eat their words and got the Bhoys to play champagne football, guiding them to five trophies in two years.
Coady believes that there is no reason why the 57-year-old cannot deliver the same brand of football in North London.
The Wolves centre-back, who spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Everton, told BBC Radio 5 Live (7:11 pm, June 5, 2023) about Postecoglou: “He has done an incredible job (at Celtic).
“Players are buying into him, what he is like with players, the relationship he has with the players, the high-intensity football. I think Tottenham can play like that, I really really do.”

The key variable in getting teams to play brave, high-pressing football lies in getting the players to completely buy into the approach.
By all accounts, one of Postecoglou’s biggest strengths is to instil that belief in the squad and to convince them to persist with the same method even if there are setbacks along the way.
