EastEnders spoiler for today June 1, 2023: new arrival wreaks havoc in Albert Square
WALFORD residents are reeling from the shock of Lola Pearce’s tragic death – but a fresh start is ahead for another character.
Tonight on BBC One, EastEnders welcomes three newcomers and one of them makes a lasting impression on the men in Albert Square.
Actress Danielle Harold bowed out of the London-based drama after a decade as Lola Pearce.
The iconic and beloved character drew her last breath in tear-jerking scenes aired last night, months after being diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour.
Walford mourns the loss of the hairstylist tonight but three new characters will also be shaking things up as they make their EastEnders debut.
Coming up, George Knight (played by Colin Salmon) rocks up in Walford with his daughters Anna and Gina (Molly Rainford and Francesca Henry) in tow.
They arrive at The Vic and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is stunned when George introduces himself as her mother Elaine Peacock’s partner.
Regular viewers of the long-running drama will remember that Elaine was called by Linda to lead things with her at The Vic after the landlady received two offers she wasn’t keen on.
Linda is told they’ve all arrived from Marbella to help run The Vic but she’s incandescent with rage to discover that Elaine’s plan all along was to invite her fiancé and his family to join them.
Soon enough, George’s arrival causes a stir in Walford as he makes his mark.
He’s instantly recognised by, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Winston (Ulric Browne) as a championship boxer.
But Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) is intrigued when he soon learns that George isn’t to be messed with and the two men butt heads.

While in The Vic, George promises Linda he won’t cause trouble because all he wants to do is build a great life with Elaine and his daughters.
