Sarah Beeny makes emotional comeback to TV as she reveals she’s been living with a “fear of death” during cancer battle
SARAH Beeny has revealed she has been living with a “fear of death” since she was diagnosed with breast cancer in August, 2022.
The actress made her first TV appearance on Monday night on BBC’s The One Show.
Sarah, 51 joined hosts, Jermaine Jennas and Anita Ranni and to discuss the release of her new documentary which documents her journey with breast cancer.
It will show the “highs and lows” of her battle with the deadly disease. When asked why she wanted to document her journey, Sarah spoke about her mother’s battle with breast cancer.
Sarah’s mother had been diagnosed with it and she passed away when she was just 39-years-old.
“I sort of always feared it. When I got to 39 which is when my mother died I thought here we are, and when I got to 40 I thought… ooh that’s weird and then got to 50 and I was diagnosed.”
The star admitted she had been living with a “fear of dying” since she got the diagnosis.
She shared: “I’ve lived with this fear for such a long time and actually once I realised how the treatment works, it’s not as nearly as bad as the fear and I thought if I could talk about it, it keeps me busy.”
A clip from Sarah’s documentary was aired on screen, and Sarah can be seen filming an episode of a daytime TV show she was working on just 10 days after getting chemotherapy.
Sarah’s new Channel 4 series is available to watch on All 4.
The 20-part series follows people as they move from the city for a fresh start in the rural countryside.
Sarah meets 11 couples and families and lends a hand as they renovate their new properties or try to start businesses.
It’s a move that the mum-of-four has plenty of experience with, having relocated her own family from London to Somerset in 2019.
