BYRON + JORDAN = OPPORTUNITY

On Saturday of tournament week, we got the opportunity to interview Jordan Spieth. Jordan Spieth is a professional golfer from Dallas, TX. He is very popular. If I didn’t know this beforehand, I know it now. I know it because there was a long line of people wanting his autograph. He signed lots of things and got his picture taken with lots of different people. We had to wait for him till he was finished.

 

When it was time, we asked him a couple questions. What I learned is that when Jordan was sixteen, Byron Nelson let him play in his tournament and gave him an opportunity. This is important because young people need opportunities to succeed and be coached.

 

I asked Jordan how he prepares mentally for a tournament. He said he does 15 minutes of deep breathing. We do deep breathing at my school, so this was a cool thing to hear him say.

 

I also asked Jordan what job he would do, if he was not a professional golfer. He thought about this for a long time. (Like, a long time!) Then, he shared that he would maybe like to be a pilot.

 

I want to thank the people who made this interview possible. It was an incredible experience getting to meet Jordan Spieth and getting to know more about him.
