THIS Morning bosses has released a new Phillip Schofield statement after Eamonn Holmes said his rival ‘was sacked.’
The host of 21 years dramatically quit last Saturday after an ongoing feud with co-star Holly Willoughby.
Phil quit the show after a ‘fall out’ with Holly[/caption]ITV have dismissed Eamonn Holmes’ claim that Phillip Schofield’s decision to leave daytime TV show This Morning was not his own.
Eamonn, a former This Morning presenter, said on his new channel GB News he believed that Schofield “was sacked”.
ITV were quick to address this, with a representative stressing it was not so.
The spokesperson told The Standard: “Phillip Schofield’s decision to step down from This Morning was (as his statement made clear) a decision agreed between Phillip and ITV.”
In an official statement, Schofield said: “ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.”
His exit was confirmed yesterday, after weeks of intense speculation about his future and a feud with co-host Holly Willoughby, 42 — and as an insider revealed the row was even putting off guests from appearing with them.
