INEOS Instruct Bankers To Prepare For Manchester United Takeover Deal

 

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been growing confident about getting the controlling stake in Manchester United in the coming weeks and months.

 

Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani and his organisation the Nine Two Foundation made a last ditch improved bid to buy Manchester United on Tuesday.

 

 

However, Ratcliffe is still the favourite to become the next controlling owner of Manchester United as he has offered more per share than the Qataris.

 

And it has been claimed that bankers associated with previous INEO deals have been asked to prepare finances for the takeover.

 

 

INEOS and Ratcliffe are increasingly confident that they are going to get the nod to take charge of Manchester United from the Glazer family.

 

Their offer of keeping Joel Glazer and Avram Glazer involved with a minority stake also appeals to the two siblings, who remain reluctant to sell.

 

 

However, the other four Glazer siblings would have to sign an agreement that would not turn their Class B shares into Class A shares.

 

Manchester United’s Class B shares have ten times the voting rights than the Class A shares and Ratcliffe wants a full controlling stake.

 

Sir Dave Brailsford, the former British Cycling chief who is a crucial figure in Ratcliffe’s team, has let his optimism about getting Manchester United be known.
