Alasdair Gold explains Tottenham’s stance on Kulusevski’s future amid rumours

Football London’s Alasdair Gold has provided a new update on the future of Dejan Kulusevski at Tottenham Hotspur amidst some rumours about the winger this week. 

The report claims that Spurs expect Kulusevski to still be a Spurs player next season after they signed him on an initial loan deal in January 2022.

Spurs paid £8.7m to sign the Swede for that 18-month period, with two permanent clauses featured in the agreement.

If certain boxes were ticked this season, such as Spurs finishing in the top four, then the loan would become an obligation to buy.

Meanwhile, if Tottenham fell short of those goals, they would retain the option to purchase him permanently for £30.5m over five years.

Football London claim that Spurs were ‘surprised’ at reports coming out of Italy this week, which question whether Kulusevski would stay in North London.

Both Goal Italia (via SportWitness 05/05/23) and Il Bianconero reported that there was a chance Kulusevski would be sent back to Juventus after Spurs missed out on Champions League football.

Spurs Web Opinion:

There is just zero chance Spurs do not sign Kulusevski. Even if the club or the new manager didn’t want him, which is very much not the case, he is already worth a lot more than that £30.5m price tag.
