Traumatised Carol Vorderman admits terrifying I’m A Celeb trial left her ‘scared for days’
CAROL Vorderman has opened up about her terrifying I’m A Celeb trial – saying it left her “scared for days”.
On Thursday night, the TV presenter, 62, was brutally axed from the show just hours before the final, alongside Royal butler Paul Burrell.
During the series, Carol was tasked with an underwater challenge with Olympian Fatima Whitbread, but admitted it was one of the worst experiences in the jungle.
“The trial in the tanks was horrendous,” Carol said.
“It was awful. I really panicked doing it. I didn’t make it into the last tank.”
The Countdown legend said she was “knocked for days” following the trial.
“I was so scared. When we were on our way back to camp, I could feel the emotions building up in me. I must admit, it knocked me for a couple of days. I kept reliving it in my head,” Carol told the Daily Star.
Many were left devastated last night as Carol narrowly missed out on a place in the final.
But now, the This Morning star has given fans an insight into her time in South Africa, as well as a very important “lie” she told I’m A Celeb producers during her first stint in the jungle.
Carol said: “Obviously I wasn’t stupid, so didn’t tell them everything. I lied. I said I don’t like snakes or heights when actually I’m not too scared of them.
“When I came out of the Australian jungle, I didn’t think I’ve ever go back in so I confessed my two real fears; drowning and claustrophobia.”
The star also opened up about her bond with Fatima Whitbread: “She was outstanding.
“We always got up at the same time, just before dawn, so we’d have some special time together in camp before everyone else woke up. She’s amazing, we really bonded.”
