My patio was looking so drab so I gave it mega makeover on the cheap using a lick of paint and it works like magic
A WOMAN has revealed that her patio was looking drab so she decided to give it the ultimate makeover on the cheap.
The mother and DIY fan explained that she was fed up of looking at her dull patio, so used a lick of paint to give it a cheap transformation.
Alyx, who is also known on social media as ‘Your DIY Hype Girl’, explained that the paint worked like “magic” and while she’s a huge DIY whizz and has done a variety of overhauls, her garden patio job is one of her “favourite projects” so far.
Posting on TikTok under the username @simplyalchemy, the woman documented the process of her patio glow up.
She said: “Back patio makeover on a budget.”
At the start of the clip, we saw the mother use a jet washer to remove the paint and dirt from her patio.
Once cleaned, the woman then used a Valspar, porch, floor and patio, wood and concrete paint, to give her patio the ultimate, smooth, satin finish.
It didn’t take long, as the savvy mum used a large roller brush to coat her patio in paint.
Once covered, the mother then used a stencil and some black paint, along with the help of her young daughter, to add a beautiful design to her patio steps.
She also placed two large plant pots at the end of the modern, white patio, to further add some colour and personality to the once, very tired patio.
The DIY whizz later added: “Paint is seriously magic.”
It’s clear to see that social media users were impressed with the woman’s clip, as it has quickly amassed 44,400 views.
It has 1,100 likes, 11 comments and 40 shares.
TikTok users were eager to praise the woman’s beautiful DIY job in the comments.

Alyx later explained: “It’s holding up pretty good!
“Some really minor chips but it’s outside so it’s not a big deal.
“I will say the white is really bright when the sun hits.
“I think a creamier off white would have been better, and more coats of sealer.”
