Report: Spurs have denied seeking help from third party in managerial hunt
Football.London have reported that Tottenham Hotspur rubbished suggestions they were taking advice from Sportsology Group about their hunt for a new head coach.
Tottenham’s search for a new manager has fallen almost entirely on Daniel Levy’s shoulders following the departure of Fabio Paratici.
The Spurs chairman not only has to hire a new head coach but also needs to fill the position vacated by Paratici.
Some reports over recent days suggest that the likes of Julian Nagelsmnan do not want to accept the job before there is clarity on who the club’s next sporting director would be (Sky Germany).
While Levy can, theoretically, get the help of Tottenham’s new chief football officer, Scott Munn, Football.London explain that the club maintain the Australian will not begin work until July 1 when his gardening leave at The City Group ends.
The publication goes on to state that Spurs have ‘categorically denied’ suggestions from outside the club that Levy has received advice from the Sportsology Group, which is run by Mike Forde, who previously worked as Chelsea’s director of football operations.
The report also adds that Tottenham’s aim is to search for a director and a head coach simultaneously and appoint two people to those roles who are aligned in their footballing philosophies.

Searching for a director and a head coach simultaneously might be delaying the whole process as it would involve back-and-forth dialogue with various candidates for both roles.
One can argue that the process would be a lot quicker if Spurs can narrow in on their candidate for the director role first and involve the newcomer in the process of interviewing various managerial candidates.
