Stevens To Drive For Tower Motorsports At Watkins Glen

Tower Motorsports has recruited current HERTZ Team JOTA FIA WEC Hypercar driver Will Stevens for the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup race at Watkins Glen this June.

Stevens will share the reigning LMP2 championship-winning team’s #8 ORECA with team owner John Farano, and Chip Ganassi development driver Kyffin Simpson, who is competing in his third endurance race with the team this season.

This marks a return to the Tower team for the Briton, after he competed with it last season at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course.

“I’m really looking forward to being back with John and Tower Motorsports, especially at such a great track like Watkins Glen,” said Will Stevens.

“I enjoyed working with them a lot last year, it will be great to be back with the team. This will be my first time working with Kyffin Simpson but I know he’s been doing a great job so far this season. We have a really strong driver lineup and I’m confident that we’ll hit the ground running as a trio. We’ll be approaching this event with one collective goal in mind, and our objective is to win.

“The team has had a very successful start to the season and I will be doing my very best to keep them on that trend.”

While the Six Hours of The Glen will be Stevens’ first race appearence at Watkins Glen International, he has turned laps at the circuit before.

“I have had the pleasure of driving it in a test session,” he explained. “I had always been told that it was a great track, and now I can definitely confirm that the high-speed nature of this circuit is exhilarating. It reminds me a lot of the old-school European-style circuits.”

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen is set to run on Sunday June 25th.
