Claire Lish retires from British Judo Board
After serving 7 years on the British Judo Board, last Tuesday 25th April, saw Claire Lish attend her final Board Meeting.
Claire made the decision to cut short her second term on the Board in order to dedicate more time to her newly created business and the judo club that she runs with her husband. Her time on the Board was celebrated and honoured at a lunch with fellow Board members and staff following the Board Meeting.
Reflecting on her time on the Board, Claire said: “I am immensely proud of my time serving on the British Judo Board, working with a talented and committed group of people who have made some impressive contributions to the sport. However, I have decided to step down to focus on my new business venture and the judo club that I run with my husband. I will always cherish the memories and friendships made during my time on the Board and I will always be a friend and supporter of British Judo.”
British Judo Chair, Ronnie Saez said: “I would like to give enormous thanks to Claire for her many years of volunteering for British Judo. She has made a tremendous contribution to the work of the British Judo Board, particularly by placing her skills and talents in the areas of Human Resources, Equalities and inclusion at our disposal. I know that Claire and her family will continue their involvement in Judo by developing North Norfolk Judo Club, and we wish them the best of luck in building upon its early success.”
British Judo Chief Executive, Andrew Scoular added: “Claire has been a tremendous support to the Association as a whole and a fabulous ambassador for the sport of Judo who will be greatly missed from the Board. However, I shall look forward to still seeing Claire and Matt at future Judo events and wish her well with both her business and judo club.”
