Robbie Keane Has Got Amongst The Leeds United Players – Sam Allardyce

 

The former Leeds striker has joined Allardyce’s staff for the last four games of the season as the Whites look to avoid getting relegated from the Premier League.

 

Leeds got in touch with Keane and he joined in immediately to assist the new manager and the rest of the coaching staff.

 

 

Allardyce claimed that Keane has wasted little time mixing himself in with the players and has already done some coaching in order to lift the standards.

 

He also highlighted the role Karl Robinson has played in order to lift the mood inside the Leeds camp, which he admitted has been down due to the stream of poor results they have had.

 

 

However, the Leeds boss stressed that the mood can only be lifted properly once they start getting results.

 

Allardyce said in a press conference: “He’s [Keane] got in amongst the players, he’s joined in, he’s done a bit of coaching with them.

 

 

“We’ve got Karl who’s the same so we’ve created a bit of an atmosphere like we like to create and how we like to work on the fact that the training ground is a nice place to come.

 

“Of course that doesn’t feel like that with the results Leeds have had recently, it’s a bit of doom and gloom and we’ve tried to lift that.

 

“We can do that to a certain degree but the only way to really lift it in the end is to start getting the results.”

 

It remains to be seen whether Leeds can manage to get a result against the odds against Manchester City this weekend.
