You have the eyes of a hawk if you spot the elephant in this optical illusion – but there’s a handy trick to help you
AN optical illusion has viewers frustrated after spending hours trying to find an elephant in a cartoon of a jungle.
The photo shows a hunter with a shotgun combing through the wilderness filled with trees and other foliage.
This optical illusion was posted by Nick (@hecticnick) on TikTok.
In the video, Nick said: “Only one percent of people can find the hidden elephant in this image.
“It’s not easy, but try flipping your phone over and you might be able to find it.
“Send this to a friend and see what they do.”
Viewers were baffled, struggling to find the hidden aminal in the image.
But finally, on-lookers realized that the elephant was lurking in the foreground.
The two large trees acted as the elephants’ legs and the smaller tree as its trunk.
One frustrated user wrote: “I took ten hours to find this.”
Another TikTok user wrote in the comment section: “It’s the trees.”
“[I] saw it without having to flip. I guess I’m in the one percent,” a third viewer said.

The optical illusion is believed to have first surfaced in the 1980s but has mystified on-lookers for decades.
This time the elephant isn’t hidden in the jungle but is in clear view.
The prompt asks how many legs the elephant has.
While some Reddit users thought the elephant had four, as to be expected from the animal, others thought it may be five.
But according to one hawk-eyed observer, the elephant in the drawing has only one leg.
The Reddit user wrote: “The only correct elephant leg in the drawing is the back left leg. That leg is completely intact, but the others aren’t.
“If you look very closely, you’ll see that the rest of the legs have the foot missing from them.
“Basically, the artist chopped the feet off of the legs and put the images of the feet between the actual legs.
“Look closely at the image and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about.”
