THE jaw-dropping transformations of patients who are on the new “miracle” fat-fighting jab have been revealed.
Tirzepatide is the latest weight loss jab that could be making its way to the U.S and Britain.
The fat fighter can help users lose an average of 15.6kg, trial data revealed today.
But although the results have so far proven to be promising, regulators still need to approve the one-a-week jab before it gets rolled out widely.
The Mail reports that it is set to be only prescribed to those with type 2 diabetes.
But several Americans have already been showing off their stunning results after taking the drug, branded as Mounjaro, after getting their doctors to give them tirzepatide “off label”.
One TikToker from California, named Kelsey, said she shed 37 pounds in 100 days after starting to take the weight loss medication in September 2021.
Before starting her journey on Mounjaro, Kelsey weighed 113.4kg and said she was “struggling”.
She said in a TikTok that the weight started dropping off faster than she anticipated as her confidence and happiness grew.
But she also revealed a darker side to the drug in a post where she talked on the struggles of taking Mounjaro.
She said she suffered with spells of dizziness and a dry mouth as a side effect of the weight loss jab.
Another man from California, Matthew Barlow, was overweight before losing 45.5kg after taking Mounjaro.
He began taking the weight loss drug last November and changed his lifestyle and eating habits, as recommened.
The 48-year-old health technology executive shared his incredible before and after images where he showed off his tighter, toned body.
“Psychologically, you don’t want to eat. Now I can eat two bites of a dessert and be satisfied,” he said.
Another 31-year-old, Emily, from North-East Indiana, dropped a mega 63.5kg in one of the most jaw-dropping transformations of them all, the Mail reported.
In a video speaking on her weight loss journey, she revealed that she had taken several hormone mimicking weight loss jabs in the past, such as Ozempic but she shed around 23kg since making the switch to Mounjaro last August.
She recalled crying at herself in the mirror before beginning the “miracle” drug but now feels an “incredible amount of joy” when catching a glimpse of her reflection.
Eli Lilly and Co are the pharmaceutical firm behind the jab and are now aiming to get the drug greenlighted as a weight loss option in the U.S, the Mail reported.
The latest trial results for the medicine, which included 900 subjects who were obese, overweight and had diabetes, found that they shed around 15.6kg on average over a 72 week period while also adopting a healthier lifestyle.
Previously, the incredible results of tirzepatide have seen the drug nicknamed the “King Kong” of weight loss meds as Eli said over 86 per cent of users taking the 15mg dosage achieved at least five per cent weight loss.
Trial participants given a lower 10mg dose achieved an average weight loss of over 13 per cent – about 14kg.
And almost 82 per cent lost at least 5 per cent of their body weight.
As part of the trial, participants reportedly had to stick to a 500kcal per day energy deficit and carry out 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week.
Data on the reported side affects was also published in the latest trial which revealed that one in five users suffered from nausea and diarrhoea.
About one in ten reported that they were vomiting or hand diarrhoea, according to the Mail.
But the company said the side effects were most commonly reported during the dose increase period.
Mounjaro was first approved to treat diabetes last year.
