Report: Sources inside Spurs make worrying 20-year claim about the club
The Telegraph have revealed that some at Tottenham have described the current mood at the club as the worst it has been in Daniel Levy’s over two decades in charge.
Just when you thought things could not get much worse at Spurs, the Lilywhites put in an abject performance at St James’ Park on Sunday and were on the receiving end of a 6-1 thumping.
The performance and result have understandably caused anger among the fan base and have raised question marks about Cristian Stellini’s future.
In fact, The Evening Standard have claimed that the Italian could depart before Tottenham’s clash against Manchester United on Thursday, with Ryan Mason being the obvious choice to replace him.
The Telegraph have now stated that sources inside the club describe the current crisis in N17 as being ‘as bad as it has ever been during Levy’s reign’, with players and staff said to be losing belief in the running and direction of the club.
The publication asserts that although Stellini is well-liked on a human level, the players were ‘bewildered’ that the 48-year-old stayed on after Conte’s departure.

The decision to put Stellini in charge certainly raised many eyebrows and it has proven to be an absolute disaster.
The club cannot afford to drift along aimlessly any longer and need to pull the plug on the current project before we take to the pitch again on Thursday.
