‘Hero’ Ant McPartlin saves four puppies when dog walker dramatically collapses in front of him
ANT McPartlin prevented four puppies from running into a road when a dog walker collapsed in front of him, we can reveal.
The TV host chased down the loose animals, rounded them up and kept them safely away from oncoming cars.
It happened as Saturday Night Takeaway host Ant, 47, enjoyed a stroll and an ice-cream with wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, in Richmond Park, South West London.
At the time, Ant was walking his Maltipoos Milo and Bumble and chocolate labrador Hurley, which he shares with ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.
They were close to the park’s Sheen Gate, where there is a steady flow of traffic.
An onlooker said: “The moment the woman collapsed the dogs all ran off in different directions. Ant immediately sprang into action to round them up.
“He was a real hero as they could have easily run into oncoming cars.
“He returned them to the woman, checked she was OK and helped her to her feet like a true gent.
“He chatted to her before continuing his ramble. It’s clear Ant is an animal lover and wanted to help.”
Ant, who turned dog herder last Saturday, agreed to share custody of Hurley with Lisa after their split.
During their divorce, he is said to have told lawyers: “She can have anything — except the dog.”
And in an interview at the time he said: “There’s a loyalty and a love and a companionship with Hurley that you can’t describe.”
Ant and co-host Declan Donnelly, also 47, will front I’m A Celeb: South Africa from tomorrow on ITV at 9pm.
