ANDREW “Freddie” Flintoff is seen on an outing — four months after he was seriously injured in a crash while filming for Top Gear.
This time, the ex-England cricket idol, 45, was in the passenger seat, with wife Rachael at the wheel.
It came after BBC chief content officer Charlotte Moore said on Thursday it would be “inappropriate” to continue with Top Gear in his absence.
She said: “My priority at the moment is supporting Freddie through his recovery so I think it would be really inappropriate for us to resume filming now. I think when we get to the point where he feels ready . . . and we’ll get to thinking about getting him back.”
Ashes hero Freddie was wearing a snood, hat and dark glasses as he sat in an SUV in Cheshire.
An onlooker said: “He was reading something on his phone, and stayed in the car while Rachael popped into a shop.
“It it was good to see him out and about in public, and apparently doing well after what he has been through.
“He did look as though he had lost a bit of weight, though.”
Freddie suffered serious facial injuries and broken ribs on December 13.
He and a crew member were in a 130mph, open-top three-wheel Morgan Super 3 that flipped at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome, Surrey.
A BBC health and safety team is investigating the accident.
Freddie’s future on the show — which he has presented alongside Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris — is unclear.
Last month, the BBC said: “Under the circumstances, we feel it would be inappropriate to resume making series 34.
“We have sincerely apologised to Freddie and will continue to support him with his recovery.”
Legal experts have said Freddie could sue the BBC over the crash.
