A WOMAN who tried a make-up hack trending on TikTok has been left disappointed after people said it looked as though she had a contagious disease.
Mirta Miler, who boasts 17.3 million followers on the social media platform, is no stranger to trying out viral make-up hacks. But it doesn’t always go according to plan.
Despite this, she had high hopes when a woman used lip stain as blush and eye shadow to create a flawless make-up look.
“Hold up, hold up, hold up,” Mirta, otherwise known as @mimiermakeup on TikTok, wrote over the clip. “We’re taking the lip stains, we’re smearing it all over our face and it’s looking cute in the end… What?“
Mirta then explained that when someone does “something questionable on the internet”, people can count on her to try it out for herself.
The make-up whizz then said she used Wow!-branded Romantic Bear lip stain several days prior, which worked out well.
Starting out with her lips, she applied the dark red stain as she announced: “I have to go out in public after this so hopefully I don’t mess this up too bad.”
After finishing her lips, she squeezed some of the red product onto her finger and spread it across one side of her cheek.
“I’m just… I’m going in,” she told viewers. Pausing briefly to remove some of the stain from her teeth, she continued: “Let’s just go all out”.
Mirta applied some of the product onto the tip of her nose as circus music played in the background, indicating that she resembled a clown.
“I’m going to be a professional and I’m going to use a brush for the eye part,” she added, applying the product onto her eyelids. “This is such a stupid idea, why did nobody stop me? Oh my God, this is going to be so bad. I can already see it.”
“This might truly be the dumbest thing I’ve ever done,” she went on.
After waiting 10 minutes for the product to dry, she set about removing it all.
“I’m going to start with the face just because I’m scared,” she told viewers while peeling it off one cheek.
“Immediately, no,” she said as she took the other side off too. “I’m sorry, this is too good to be true. How did she make it look so cute? And I made it look like a disease.”
Once all of it was off, she did her best to take it all off with a cloth, but it didn’t work.
“So this is my new look,” she said. “I’ve got to go because I’m going to be late. If you see me, you don’t know me.”
The top comment on the post was: “That looks contagious,” with three crying with laughter emoji, which got 18k likes.
“That’s a perfect description of this look,” Mirta replied.
Another said: “rosacea core,” while a third said it looked like a “rash”.
And when one person asked: “So did you cover it with foundation or something or did you actually go out like that ?(huge fun btw),” she replied: “I did put on a LOT of foundation, the eyes are the worst it looks like I have pink eye”. [SIC]
She added that the stain can be seen through the foundation regardless of the amount she put on her face.
