She said: “Many studies have shown that the presence of plants in a bedroom can create many sleep-inducing benefits.”
These benefits include helping “lower a person’s cortisol levels by releasing oxygen at night, which helps clear the mind and relax the body,” she explained.
Not only that but plants are known to “improve the ventilation and humidity of a room” so it’s easier to breathe.
This low-maintenance plant doesn’t need much attention to thrive in your home.
Snake plants are a great option for beginners, the pro explained, since they don’t need direct sunlight and minimal watering, so are a good choice if your bedroom is more on the shady side too.
There are plenty of ways you can style them to match whatever interior style you like too, from boho hanging pots to posh ceramic planters.

The pro said: “They don’t love direct sunlight, so opt for a location with medium light and only water them when the top inches of soil feel dry.”

As a succulent, this plant requires very little water. In fact you can you can go weeks without needing to worry about it, especially during winter.

“Lavender plants like warmer, brighter spots, so make sure your plant is close to a window where it can get plenty of sunshine, ideally it needs at least eight hours of sun a day to thrive,” the expert explained.
