Report: La Liga club expected to charge up to £26.5m for alleged Spurs target
AS have revealed that rumoured Tottenham target, Franck Kessie, could be sold by Barcelona even though the player himself wants to remain at the club.
Plenty of outlets over the past couple of months have backed Spurs to make a move for Kessie, with Sport reporting in February that the Lilywhites are ‘very interested’ in the Ivorian and ‘really like him’ as a player.
The publication added that Spurs are one of ‘many’ clubs who have expressed an interest in the former AC Milan star.
AS have now asserted that despite Kessie performing well at Barcelona, there is ‘no guarantee’ that he will remain at the club next season.
Even though the midfielder wants to remain at Camp Nou and Xavi Hernandez is happy with his performances, it is explained that the Barca hierarchy might decide to cash in on him to balance the books in the summer.
The report states that the Catalan giants are expected to demand a fee in the region of €25m-€30m (£22.1m-£26.5m) for Kessie.
It is asserted that no matter how much the 26-year-old and his entourage assure that they want to stay, the player’s future remains ‘completely open’.
