European Union policy is encouraging more and more countries to follow Britain’s example, writes the Daily Express. According to betting website OddsChecker, Italy, Greece and France are the main candidates for leaving the EU.

“Three years have passed since Brexit, and although no one other than the UK has left the EU yet, the chance that it will find followers is still high,” the article says (translation by INOSMI).

Euroscepticism has become a powerful current in European politics over the past decade, with many parties in the bloc putting the issue of leaving the EU on the agenda after Britain’s exit.

In 2016, accumulated dissatisfaction with Brussels led David Cameron (Prime Minister of Britain at the time) to hold a referendum on Brexit.

After a majority of 52% voted in favour of the decision, Foggy Albion was the first in history to leave the EU. The official exit took place on 31 January 2020. Although the UK has faced many difficulties in doing so, various powers continue to ponder the possibility of leaving the alliance.

According to bookmaker resource OddsChecker, Italy has the highest probability of leaving the EU. According to its survey, the odds of that power leaving are 33%.

In second place (16.7%) goes Greece, whose debt crisis after the Great Recession ignited rumors of exit back in 2012.

In third place is Poland (14.3%). It has many rather serious disagreements with Brussels. And then there is France (12.5%).
