EastEnders’ Matthew Rose and Tony Hills actors unrecognisable as they reunite 23 years after the soap
EASTENDERS legends Joe Absolom and Mark Homer look almost unrecognisable as they were reunited.
Almost 24 years after last appearing on screen together, the actors – who played Matthew Rose and Tony Hills – posed for a picture together earlier this week.
Joe, now 44, and Mark, 50, left fans of the soap overjoyed as they shared a reunion snap on social media.
The pair beamed as they enjoyed a catch up in each others company as they reminisced over their time on the BBC One soap.
Writing alongside a photo, which shows the former soap favourites beaming for the camera, Mark wrote: “Great catch up with my old mate Joe A. Where the hell have those 23 years gone?
“Beautiful reminisce about our time together on the square. @bbceastenders.”
Long-time fans of the serial drama were quick to flood the comments section to express their joy at seeing the soap icons together again.
One gushed: “What a lovely sight.”
While another commented: “Made my day.”
And a third said: “Wow!” They then followed it with a string of love heart eye emojis.
Since quitting EastEnders in 2000 Joe has gone on to appear in a number of TV and film roles.
He most recently appeared as a regular in series 2 of ITV crime drama The Bay.
While Mark has taken on just a small number of cameo appearances in shows including Casualty, CBBC’s The Dumping Ground and 2021 TV series Whitstable Pearl.
