End of season award winners announced

With the season coming to an end, the team announced the winners of the annual team awards.

Team MVP – Anthony Lucarelli

After a slow start to the season, Anthony would get better and better as time went on and would take off in the second half. He would evolve into a top line center that would play in all situations and if you needed a faceoff won in a key moment, he was your guy. Anthony set career highs offensively, with his 21 goals being the most on the team and his 22 assists would help him finish second in team scoring.

Top Defenseman – Casey Aman & Jack Blanchett

This is the second straight year Casey has won the Top Defenseman award. With the “C” on his chest he would surpass all his offensive totals from last season, collecting 10 goals and 25 assists while being one of the most relied upon players on the team.
 
Right from his first game Jack showed off his offensive prowess. His one timer became a fixture on the power play and had goaltenders trembling whenever he loaded up a slap shot. His 15 goals were the most among BCHL defenseman and he added 19 assists to finish 13th in defenseman scoring.
Rookie of the Year + Fan Favourite – Anthony Yu
The Baldwin Park California product finished second on the team with 17 goals and he added 22 assists to help put him in the top 15, in BCHL rookie scoring this season. His love for scoring goals was felt by everyone in attendance as he never shied away from following up a goal with an even more exciting celebration which won the hearts of many Kings fans, leading to a unanimous victory in the fan favourite vote.
Unsung Hero + 3 stars award – Cam Symons
It may of taken the 20 year old 18 games to get his first BCHL goal, but once he did there was no stopping him. He finished the season with 16 goals and 26 assists in 54 games and was a physical force whenever he was on the ice. Cam also had a 9 game point streak back in November/December which was the longest by any King this season.
Most Sportsmanlike – Dylan Hewlett
Dylan played in all 54 games this season and only accumulated 6 penalty minutes. In his BCHL career he only had 46 penalty minutes in 143 regular season and playoff games.
Playoff MVP – Ryder Ringor
Coming off an impressive inaugural season with the Kings with 9 goals and 21 assists, Ryder carried his consistent play over to the playoffs coming up with 2 goals and 2 assists in 5 games.
Top Scorer – Karter McNarland
Karter would surpass all his totals from last season and lead the team in points with 47. His 16 goals were the most he scored in his entire junior career, and he would also lead the team in assists with 31.
