Giffnock’s Turban Tandoori adds generous donation to ‘Purple Day’
The thanks of everyone connected with Queen’s Park Football club went out to the Turban Tandoori Restaurant at Station Road, Giffnock this week when they handed over a cheque for a whopping £1000 to be donated to Epilepsy Scotland.
The Management and Staff at the Turban Tandoori chose to help Epilepsy Scotland after being told of the great work carried out by Queen’s Park’s Supporters Association and Supporters Team in memory of club supporter Martin Kelly who passed away almost a decade ago.
Our recent cinch Championship home game with Arbroath was used to not only mark the impact Martin had on Queen’s Park but also to highlight ‘Purple Day’ on March 26 which raised awareness of epilepsy and provided assurance to people that they are not alone if they have the condition.
Club President David Hunter said: “Our thanks go to everyone at Turban Tandoori for this fabulous donation to Epilepsy Scotland. I was delighted that Martin’s mum and dad, Bridie and Brian, our supporter John Richmond, who does so much for Epilepsy Scotland and our Head of Commercial Kieran Koszary joined me to accept the cheque on behalf of the charity.”
“The Restaurant proudly backs a number of community initiatives and it is great that they have added to the collection arranged by our supporters in memory of Martin at the Arbroath game that raised nearly £550.”
