Official alert for all Google users to never search for six websites – your bank could be wiped out in seconds
ONLINE shoppers have been warned not to search for six sites.
Security experts at Trend Micro have flagged the websites as scams that will take your money.
The websites are all related to Easter and claim to sell Easter and Spring related products.
Some even claim to have large discounts and sales happening.
With people hoping to find a bargain now Easter weekend is over, cybercriminals know they can trick some people into giving away cash.
The experts at security firm Trend Micro claim the sites will put your money into the hands of criminals in seconds.
Giving away any financial information on the websites is dangerous and could even lead to your bank being drained if you’re not careful.
“You’re almost guaranteed to not receive any items you purchase and any information you enter onto them — personal and financial alike — will fall straight into the hands of the scammers,” the experts explained on their website.
The websites flagged as scams are called Athvotar, Easchee, InkInAction, LooShore, MKDCreations, and Hardaddy.
You should be wary of any adverts or popups you see for these platforms.
Experts recommend avoiding searching for them on Google or clicking on links to them.
Signs of a scam website
If you’re worried that a shopping site is a scam there are some key signs to look for.
They’ll likely be no customer reviews or a large number of all 5-star customer reviews that are very similar.
No contact information or social media is another red flag.
You should be able to reach out to legitimate brands for help with orders and information requests.
Also, watch out for a site full of amazing discounts.
If a deal seems too good to be true it likely is unless you know you’re buying from a legitimate retailer.
