Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly convinced about the idea of signing Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent basis, and are not going to let Fabio Paratici’s worldwide ban from football get in the way of the deal.
Kulusevski signed for Tottenham back in January of last year from Juventus, arriving on an initial 18-month loan deal.
That loan deal is believed to include a purchase clause that will allow Spurs to sign Kulusevski permanently for a fee of £31 million (Fabrizio Romano).
The Swedish star was signed during Antonio Conte’s reign at the club, and there were some concerns that the Italian’s departure could cause issues for the Lilywhites’ hopes of making Kulusevski a Spurs player official.
However, the player himself insisted he is happy at the club (Daily Mirror).
According to reports from CalcioMercato, Juventus’ financial situation will help the move come to fruition, too, with Kulusevski a player the Italian club are keen to cash in on.
It was Spurs’ director of football, Fabio Paratici, who facilitated the original transfer of Kulusevski.
With Paratici banned from working in the sport for 30 months, pending an appeal (Evening Standard), it remains to be seen how that could impact the negotiations now.
However, in a new report from TuttoMercatoWeb, it is suggested that Paratici’s circumstances will not impact the Kulusevski situation.
In fact, Spurs are keen to make the transfer regardless and are intent on keeping the 22-year-old for many years to come.
It is thought everyone at the club is a fan of the Swedish attacker and are fully convinced that he should become a Spurs player on a permanent basis.
Spurs Web Opinion
We’d be crazy not to make Kulusevski’s move a permanent one, and we shouldn’t let Paratici’s situation affect the move.
He’s had a slightly difficult season this year, but he’s still a quality player.
