OAKLAND — A 47-year-old man was shot multiple times Thursday evening in East Oakland, authorities said.
He was in stable condition at a hospital on Friday.
The shooting, which prompted a ShotSpotter alert, happened about 6:54 p.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of 46th Avenue.
Responding officers found the man in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
ShotSpotter recorded more than 10 gunshots and numerous shell casings were recovered in the area, police said.

Police were trying to determine what the confrontation was about and if the wounded man knew the shooter.
