Four in a Bed fans left livid by guests’ ‘shameful, ridiculous’ breakfast scores – raging ‘it should be null and void!’
FOUR in a Bed viewers were left raging at guests’ “shameful” and “ridiculous” breakfast scores on the show.
In the latest instalment of the hit Channel 4 show this week, viewers saw the competing hoteliers stay at Railway Hotel Apartments in Gloucestershire.
Carol and Matt presented their flats as self-catering and that the rates required a minimum of two nights’ stay.
Beth and Rupi, friends and coworkers, arrived first. Their room cost them £250 per night without breakfast.
Tom and Angela were the second couple to arrive at the apartments, followed soon after by husband and wife Kerry and Jonathan. The price for each couple’s room was fixed at £160 per night.
The three pairs were sent across the street to a restaurant that provides their prepared breakfasts the following morning rather than receiving a breakfast basket or a cooked breakfast on-site.
“Being self-catering, a lot of people don’t want breakfast; they just want a place to sleep,” remarked Matt when asked why he sent the couples to the restaurant.
The guests were asked to review their experience of the hotel after finishing breakfast, and all three couples gave breakfast an excellent rating.
After learning that the visitors had to pay for their own food in addition to their hotel stay, viewers were outraged by the scores that were given, with some arguing that they should be “null” and “void.”
Taking to Twitter one wrote: “This couple are just mad! Why are they not serving breakfast for the guest?”
Another fumed: “You can’t give them any marks for breakfast.”
“I’ll say it again, breakfast scores should be null and void when it’s not provided by the hosts, but that doesn’t seem to matter anymore these days. This programme has certainly had its day if they think this is acceptable. Shame,” A third raged.
A fourth added: “It should be 0 for breakfast!”
A fifth complained: “These idiots that keep giving top marks for breakfast when the hosts didn’t even make it. They’re having to pay for a restaurant breakfast on top of the ridiculous price per night!”
