SATURDAY Night Takeaway descended into chaos as Ant McPartlin told an old lady to ‘move out the way’.
The ITV show started with one of the Geordie duo’s games, Ring My Bell.
It involves members of the audience identifying their ring doorbell view if it appears on screen, before Dec reveals what household item their neighbour would need to bring to the door first to win them both £500.
One lady in the audience stood up when she spotted her door bell view, and Dec revealed the first neighbour to turn up with dirty laundry would win them both the cash.
Within seconds, an elderly lady was at the door and pushed her face close to the screen.
However, the speed at which she arrived made Ant and Dec fear she hadn’t waited to find out what item she had to bring with her.
Ant asked her name, and she replied “Cynthia”, but as he asked if she had dirty laundry with her, she failed to answer, unable to hear properly.
Suddenly, other neighbours arrived with dirty laundry in hand, but Cynthia was still hogging the doorstep.
As Ant tried to get Cynthia to either speak or step aside, he suddenly cried: “This is chaos!”
The pair giggled before Ant continued: “OK Cynthia if you could just move out the way darling!”
However, Cynthia failed to move, and after a few more moments of trying to establish who the next person was who had arrived with the correct item, Ant said: “We might need to move on!”
After they finally decided to give the other woman the money even though they didn’t know her name, Ant added cheekily: “Just to be clear, Cynthia wins nowt.”
While Cynthia didn’t win any cash, the chaos she caused meant she had won the hearts of Takeaway viewers at home.
One wrote on Twitter: “Cynthia from Ring My Bell is my TV Hero of the week.”
Another added: “Cynthia giving us the best moment of the series.”
A third tweeted: “A legend is born. Cynthia.”
Meanwhile a fourth shared: “The funniest moment still howling now!”
Even the Saturday Night Takeaway Twitter account got in on the action, sharing a snap of Cynthia at the door and writing: “We are now officially a Cynthia fan account.”
