Once again it appears that this team as constituted has no clear desire to mix it up with a team that plays with ('as Super Rollo' states) a set of balls.
We wilt in the face of toughness don't we?
Mike, god love him isn't going to have the frame even with strength and conditioning over the off season. Stronger yes but his muscle and bone structure won't evolve into a muscle man.
Homes may gain some ability to mix it up with a bigger guy but still seems hesitant to contact physically with a similar big man on his hip. Sort of weak around the basket.
Mali goes into the trees and comes away with nothing more times than not. A finisher? Could be but when physicality comes into play not sure he can deal with it successfully.
Those are a few players that I can think of that on their own in open space are pretty good. But match them up with a physically opposing team and it becomes dicey.
Grant hasn't structured a BB team that way and I think in someways that will hurt us moving forward as it has in the past few seasons
Last nite was another example of a smackdown event.
