Journalist predicts club could make a move for Tottenham star in 2024 

Journalist Christian Falk has suggested that Bayern Munich are open to delaying their pursuit of Harry Kane by 12 months and signing the Tottenham striker on a free transfer in 2024.

With Kane having less than 16 months left to run on his contract with Spurs, the speculation over the striker’s future continues to intensify as we get closer to the summer transfer window.

Over the last couple of months, multiple publications have reported that Manchester United and Bayern Munich are both exploring a summer move for the England captain, who is expected to be valued at £100m by Spurs if he does not sign a new contract (Telegraph).

However, Football Insider reported two weeks ago that Tottenham are hopeful Kane will commit his future to the club, claiming that the Lilywhites hierarchy do not believe that the striker’s future is tied to that of Antonio Conte.

Falk has now suggested that since the operation to sign the 29-year-old would be expensive for Bayern in the summer, it would not be the worst outcome for the Bundesliga club if the striker runs his contract down.

The journalist told FCB Inside: “Currently they are building on an extension with Choupo-Moting.

“Harry Kane is still interesting for Bayern, but is currently difficult to implement financially for the coming summer.

“It wouldn’t be the worst situation for Bayern if Kane let his contract with Tottenham expire.

“If Choupo was extended, the record champions could also wait until 2024 for the England captain.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect there will only be one of two outcomes – either Kane signs a new contract or is sold by Spurs this summer.

I would be surprised if the North London club decide to keep the striker if he does not sign a new contract, thus potentially forgoing a transfer fee of around £100m.
