Close pal takes no interest in me now she has a new boyfriend
DEAR DEIDRE: NOW that she has a new boyfriend my friend never spends time with me.
I am a 42-year-old man and my friend is 41.
We met 25 years ago when we were studying at the same college.
We really hit it off and have been mates ever since.
She recently got a new boyfriend and since then she rarely spends time with me.
I know she sees her other pals, so I’m not sure why she is being like this with me.

Your friend is caught up in her new relationship, but she is acting selfishly.
Perhaps she doesn’t realise she’s neglecting you.
Tell her how you feel.
Ask her to set aside time for you but if things don’t change, you might have to accept she’s not the person you thought, and focus on other friendships.
