A POPULAR former candidate of Lord Alan Sugar has blasted The Apprentice for becoming a “snooze-fest”.
Ryan-Mark Parsons says the BBC has fallen victim to “cancel culture” – and won’t risk having anyone controversial on.
Lord Alan Sugar has returned for the show’s 17th series[/caption]The 22-year-old insists it’s led to this year’s cast being the dullest ever.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Ryan-Mark – who starred in the 2019 series – said: “I feel like it’s utterly boring.
“I have tried to tune in, but I think it’s just a bit of snooze-fest.
“The casting has changed dramatically since my series.
“They’re type-casted. You can definitely see who is playing what character and that becomes repetitious. You need flavour, personality, pasazz and star quality and I can’t see that in any of them.
“I think that’s why it’s shifted in such a dramatic way.
“In 2019 there was a really eclectic bunch of people, it made for a really fun series. You can see everyone on Twitter saving the same thing.”
Ryan-Mark is convinced it’s down to BBC producers being worried about stars getting themselves into trouble.
“I think it’s a wider issue – it’s about woke culture,” the Celebs Go Dating star added.
“There’s so many things we can and can’t say anymore and I think the BBC are really mindful of that.
“In my series we had so much going on, it was chaos. ThereI was arguing with another candidate on Twitter and there were front page stories about our cast.
“I think the producers thought ‘we an’t have a repeat of this series.’
“If they’re going to try and rejuvenate it and make it exciting then they need to switch up the format. They need to inject some fun into who they have on it.
“Lord Sugar doesn’t have long left.”
