The flower show in Mandya, India is drawing crowds in hordes. The show, organized by the district administration and the horticulture department, will conclude on January 30. Over 20,000 flowerpots with more than 25 different types of flowers are arranged in special designs, much to the delight of visitors. Members of the Mandya district bonsai club are exhibiting bonsai plants belonging to the ficus botanical species and other fruit species developed by them. Harish Brahmavar has carved out figures of national heroes like Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. BR Ambedkar, and Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar. Many famous poets and movie actors on fruits and vegetables like watermelon, pumpkin, carrot, among other fruits are a big hit among the people. Along with the flower show, a cereal fair and an exhibition of various ornamental fishes by the fisheries department have been organized. The retail brand Mela organized by the district agriculture department to popularize other agricultural products like jaggery, millet, and rice grown by the farmers is available for sale. The show was inaugurated on January 26.
