THE MASKED Singer viewers are utterly convinced Rhino is Busted singer Charlie Simpson – and are baffled the panellists remain oblivious.
While the celebrity guessing game relies on clues to give the game away, for 90s/00s babies it seems the identity of Rhino is far too obvious.
Charlie Simpson, famed for his gravelly voice in both his work in Busted and rock band Fightstar, is now the prime suspect for Rhino.
For tonight’s show, which was themed “Clue Week” each celebrity contestant performed a song which provided a clue to their real identity.
Rhino performed The Lion King’s “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” – which many think is in reference to King Charles III (aka Charlie).
But as the show was passed to the judges, none of them named Charlie as the potential star underneath the costume – which infuriated viewers who believe it’s “obvious”.
Instead they named Tyson Fury, Charlie Puth, Jason Orange and Alfie Boe as their potential celebs.
“You’re absolutely delusional if you don’t think Rhino is Charlie Simpson, man was my first ever crush I’d recognise him anywhere,” wrote one viewer.
“That the judges can’t tell that @CharlieSimpson is Rhino suggests either fakery or stupidity,” said a second. “It’s never been so obvious. One of the most awesome and distinctive voices around.”
A third added: “I think this is the most obvious masked singer contestant ever.. Charlie Simpson 1000%”
While a fourth said: “Rhino competing with Knitting for most obvious masked celebrity in the history of this show”
The Masked Singer continues Saturdays at 7pm on ITV and ITVX.
