A FEMALE tradie has taken to social media to show off what it’s like working in a male-dominated industry and to encourage other women to get involved.
Posting on TikTok under the username @y2k_weewah, the young woman, from Australia, has shared a variety of videos to the video sharing platform showing off what it’s like working in a trade.
The woman confirmed that she is a Boilermaker – a tradesperson who fabricates steel, iron, or copper into boilers and other large containers intended to hold hot gas or liquid.
She also maintains and repairs boilers and boiler systems as part of her job too.
The brown-haired beauty posted a clip to the social media app with the caption ‘Trades women’, as she encouraged other young women to take up a career in a trade.
The self-proclaimed “tradie lady” explained that although she goes to work not looking her best, she still has co-workers flirting with her.
She said: “Ladies, if you’re feeling down, get a job in the trades.
“You’ll make bank [money] while dressed like a bum, and you’ll still get hit on and forget about him.”
In the clip, we see the young female tradie at work, joking around with one of her male colleagues.
She wears her orange hi-vis jacket and has dirt on her face from all of her work.
Not only this but she is seen wearing protective eyewear on her head.
Her video has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up a whopping 162.7k views.
It has 35.4k likes, 96 comments and 54 shares.
Many women took to the comments to reveal that they were inspired by the young woman to enter a trade.

In another clip, the young woman posted a clip of herself, filming herself in her bedroom.
She confirmed that she is “wifey material” and many of her loyal TikTok followers agreed.
