C Butt delivers rising profits for the fifth year running
Road haulage, warehousing and distribution firm C Butt Logistics saw revenues leap by 20% and pre-tax profit rise for the fifth year running in 2021/22 as it continues on its strategy of targeting 3PL contracts.
The company, which employs just over 100 staff, has depots in Northampton, Lutterworth and Kettering, and operates a fleet of around 150 trucks and 170 trailers.
Its recently published annual results show that in the year to 30 April 2022 its revenues grew to £17.1m, up from £14.3m in the previous year. Meanwhile its pre-tax profit rose to £349,526 (2021: £214,136).
In its strategic report to the results the company said: “This is positive news now the company is in profit for the fifth year running, with our net asset position remaining strong with good cash reserves.
“During 2022 we have seen the business go from strength to strength. Turnover is up 20% and operating profit is up 70%. The business continues to generate positive operating cash flows and we believe our overall strategy remains on track to deliver continued sales growth and profitability.”

Looking to the future the company said it is continuing to focus on growing turnover by the addition of profitable third party logistics contracts.
It added: “We will target higher margin contracts by focusing on expanding our provision of warehousing and associated value added distribution services whilst continuing to offer competitive transport rates through both our dedicated fleet and network partners.
“The company will continue to invest in best in class IT solutions to underpin its transport and warehouse service offerings to customers.”
The report said the company also plans to expand its fleet and warehousing portfolio this year, and to invest in a “strong IT infrastructure to enhance capabilities in all of its service offerings to customers.”
The company has yet to respond to a request for comment.
