Woman ‘murdered’ on New Year’s Eve by ‘man who knew her’ is remembered as an ‘environmental heroine’ by volunteer pals
TRIBUTES are pouring in for an “environmental heroine” who was allegedly murdered in her home on New Year’s Eve.
Stephanie Hansen was discovered by officers with multiple stab injuries at a home in west London, at around 10am on Saturday.
Police and paramedics were called to the address on Willenhall Drive, Hayes, where Stephanie was pronounced dead at the scene.
Seldon Rodrigues, 29, who was known to Stephanie, was arrested and has been charged with her murder.
He was due to appear in Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court today.
Ms Hansen was a volunteer at the Cranford Action Group, a community group endeavouring to help make the West London suburb a better and greener neighbourhood.
Speaking to The Sun, fellow volunteer and close friend Magdalena Szymaniak spoke about Stephanie’s caring and cheerful persona.
“My heart is broken since I heard the news. She always cared about mother nature and her friends. She was full of love! I will always remember her as a funny and cheerful girl with her pink hoop.
“Her life was taken in a horrible and unnecessary way. She will be deeply missed. I loved her bubbly personality and I can’t believe that she’s gone.”
A number of Stephanie’s friends took to social media to pay tribute.
One volunteer wrote: “We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear the loss of our dear friend Stephanie Hansen on New Years Eve. Stephanie, a beautiful young lady and a remarkable environmental heroine.
“She would trek every weekend from Hayes to Cranford to help with our local projects. We will miss her laughter, her boundless energy and fearlessness in tackling all things harmful to the environment. RIP Stef.”
Another said: “Thoughts for all people associated with this tragic loss. It has been a long time since the beautiful angel came into my life.”
