A fitness pro has revealed how to walk to burn fat[/caption]Fortunately, all it involves is walking – but not as you know it, or are used to.
Instead, fitness fanatic Layla, who runs TikTok account @liftwithlayla, says it’s time to mix-up your gym routine with a high incline walk that’s guaranteed to give you results.
Uploading a video of herself walking on a treadmill, she said: “Me trying to explain to people that walking on a treadmill around 15 incline/ 3 mph keeps muscle growth and burns fat faster than jogging or running.”
Layla then went on to share how this should be implemented into your exercise regime, and the optimum time to notice a difference.
She continued: “Do it 5 times a week for 30 minutes.
“And by the end of January, you would have lost weight and kept it off.”
She then jokingly added: “Don’t say you didn’t know.”
Her followers were quick to comment, including those offering their own tips on how to make the time fly so that it doesn’t even feel like you’re working out.
One wrote: “I do cardio two days a week at an incline of 10, speed of 3.4 for 15 minutes.
“This combined with strength training, I’ve lost 651Bs.”
A second said: “This is a great reminder that you can get results without running.”
While a third added: “Don’t forget to put on Netflix while walking, makes time FLY by.”
However, Layla also had plenty more tips up her sleeve on how you can work out simply but effectively.
In her post, she explained in the caption there’s another great alternative to walking if you body allowed you to do higher impact exercise:
She said: “[This is just] another effective form of cardio I recommend if jump rope is too hard on your knees and ankles.”
Her profile also features countless videos of workout ideas – from January challenges to glute exercises.
She also encouraged her followers to start now, as they’d soon feel better.
Layla said: “If you start on Jan 2nd, in two weeks, you’ll feel it. In 4 weeks, you’ll see it. In 8 weeks, you’ll hear it.”
