My mother hated me so much that she left me out of her will
DEAR DEIDRE: My mother hated me when she was alive, and now she’s dead it feels like she’s tormenting me from her grave.
She used to hit me and put me down as a child, and she even got my own brother to bully me.
After she died aged 82, I discovered that she hadn’t left me a penny. I’m 48.
We were estranged after she kicked me out aged 18.
A cousin told me she’d died and eventually I looked up her will. She’d left everything to her husband and my brother – and to an animal charity.
She loved dogs more than me.
I don’t know what I did to deserve this, and I don’t know how I’ll move on.

DEIDRE SAYS: Some people don’t deserve to be parents and it sounds like your late mother is one of them.
Unfortunately, unless there is someone in the family who knows the reason, you might never get to the bottom of why she treated you so badly.
Some professional help would allow you to find closure and some peace.
