Love Island’s frantic rush to finish set ahead of show launch – with bridge over pool and complete makeover of villa

LOVE Island has been facing a frantic rush to finish the set ahead of the show’s launch for its winter series.

The brand-new mansion – which was revealed by The Sun earlier this year – is having a “complete makeover”.

Love Island is set to return to ITV2 next year with its winter series, bringing a whole host of new single hopefuls together.

The next set of dating stars are set to enter the brand-new villa based in South Africa, with epic views and a huge pool.

The sprawling mansion is set in millionaire’s row and makes the perfect setting for the winter series of the show.

But now, sources have exclusively revealed that the villa still needs more work, as the crew rushes to get it finished in time.

An insider said: “The villa is getting a complete makeover – it’ll be bigger and better than ever.

“The firepit is back and absolutely huge; they’ve built a bridge-type structure over the pool so islanders don’t have to walk all the way to confront love rivals.

“Plus, it’s covered in neon signs that fans will recognise from the original villa.”

ITV bosses have rented out a new swanky pad ahead of the upcoming series of the hit ITV2 and ITVX show, which is being hosted by Maya Jama for the first time.

The sprawling property boasts an enormous pool set in a huge courtyard with a large sunbathing deck which will welcome the wannabes in January.

One night in the plush mansion costs upwards of £430.

The manor house is also environmentally friendly and runs off grid – generating its own electricity and water.

Views from the manor house stretch across the vineyards and give views of the mountains, as well as a running track.

It’s expected this year’s love-lorn contestants will be flown out to South Africa in the coming days before the show begins.

Love Island, which is the biggest show in the UK for 16-34 year olds, will be hosted by Maya, 28, for the first time.

The Sun exclusively revealed how she was taking over from Laura Whitmore earlier this year.

Maya said: “I’ve always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows! I can’t wait to get into the Villa to meet all of the Islanders.”

Maya — worth around £2.5million — will also host the dating show’s summer edition from Majorca.
